VOLUME 01

More than the other two volumes, this initial Ithuriel epic resembles The Odyssey. It’s a five-plus year sojourn in which our young hero must escape from his homeland & flee for his life. Ithuriel’s trek takes him to the ends of that era’s known world. Ithuriel’s sense of justice—& his serious desire for some payback—brings him back to his homeland.

This pre-history era, Kuanzishwa (Swahili for “inception”), is set about fifty thousand years in the past. The people, places, cultures, etc. that Ithuriel encounters during his trek reflect historically seminal cultures & people that are foundational in today’s world.

As a wandering warrior—someone who resembles a pre-configuration of “militaristic Marco Polo,” Ithuriel gathers a wealth of knowledge. He affects the lives of many people that he encounters—creating great friendships & a sterling reputation as he passes through various places. And, though he has no romantic goals or desires, Ithuriel does meet a few women that make important impressions on his life.

In his odyssey, Ithuriel traverses his home continent of Alk’bulaan (Africa) & Zhou Baek (Asia).

He’s forced into this trek due to the persistent attempts on his life by that era’s (arguably) most powerful magus, Kabandha.

However, Ithuriel does have help. An extremely capable—& secretive—enchanter surreptitiously has Ithuriel’s back. And the young warrior accumulates great & talented friends in his travels.

He also makes deadly enemies.

Nonetheless, this epic coming-of-age narrative pushes sword-&-sorcery/sword-&-soul saga into uncharted territory.
