MENTHU, Issue 07

Issues #07 is 28 pages & has an 18 page main story by Geoff Thorne (writer for comics & TV) & Todd Harris (storyboard artist on Marvel & “John Wick”)—the duo known collectively as Genre Nineteen—& an 8-page back-up story.

Genre Nineteen dips into L.A. lore & Egyptian myth by introducing The White Bull. Though new pantheon rules forbid the immortals to “walk the face of the Earth,” Nebthet bends the rules in order to prepare Menthu for a Battle Royale between him & Set. Such a confict seems to be waiting in the wings.

The short story introduces a nameless, extremely malevolent djinn—one that has a millennia-old grudge to settle. The brief narrative concentrates on the Egyptian and Akkadian pantheons from the distant past.
